Protests in Lolab Kupwara; 4 Journalists among 20 Injured
KUPWARA; Massive protests erupted today morning in Sogam Lalpora in Lolab area of Kupwara dirtcit. People are demanding that Army must disclose the identity of 7 alleged ultras killed.
Last evening Army claimed to have killed 7 insurgents.
As per the reports, People demanding dead bodies of the miltants held a demonstration. A procession marched towards the Police station Lalpora, However police opened indiscrminate firing injuring scores of protesters including 4 journalists.
However, the situation went out of control and people torched the police station. District authorities have imposed the curfew in the areas.
Locals allege that these are the 'dramas' by the Indian forces, They are killing civilians and later duping them as militants.
Pertinently last time Army claimed to have killed 15 militants in the area, months later it proved no counter took place and no one was killed.
As per civil rights groups,more than 10 thousand people disappeared in Kashmir since the insurgency broke out.
