BANDIPORA; Shutdown and clashes were reported from various areas of Bandipora after the Friday prayers with people protesting in large numbers against the CRPF excesses and Farhat’s killing.

The protesters while chanting Pro-Islam and Pro-Azadi slogans reached Shah-Gund where congregational prayers were held at Farhat’s grave.
People also protested against the excesses committed by the forces in the recent past, accusing that the CRPF went on berserk against the people at various areas of Bandipora during the recent protests.
Later, clashes erupted between CRPF and people with the youth in large numbers pelting stones towards forces at Naidkhai. To disperse the angry mob, CRPF later fired several teargas shells towards the protesters. The situation remained tense till the last reports came in.
Meanwhile, reports from Hajan informed that minor incidents of stone pelting were also reported from the area. People from Hajan while slamming the probe ordered into the killing of 18 year old Farhat Dar, stated that it is ‘ironical’ that when everyone including the state government is in full knowledge that who killed Farhat, why are they asking for the witnesses into the firing incident. People from the area also accused that they are being continuously harassed by the forces in the area since Farhat’s killing. They added that people are being paraded on daily bases at main chowk of Hajan and that several youth have been detained.
