Malik, Shah & Others Visit Geelani
SRINAGAR; Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik Saturday visited Syed Ali Geelani‘s residence to inquire about his health.
According to inputs, Malik accompanied by senior front leaders Noor Mohamad Kalwal and Mohammad Hussain Altaf visited Geelani’s hyderpora residence and inquired about the health status of the octogenarian leader, whjo recently complained about severe chest infection. Malik expressed hope for the early recovery of the top pro-freedom leader.
Meanwhile, A delegation of Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) led by Shabir Ahmad Shah also visited the ailing resistance leader.
According to a statement, the delegation included Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq ul Islam, Muhammad Yusuf Nawash, Moulana Abdullah Taari, Molvi Bashir Ahmad and Muhammad Yasin Ataai. Expressing grief over the ailing health of Syed Ali Geelani and his continuous house arrest, Shabir Ahmad Shah said that by keeping the veteran leader under house arrest is severely affecting his health condition.
Shah while termed Geelani as “voice of oppressed Kashmiri nation” prayed for his early recovery and also urged people to pray for him. The delegation also visited Soibug where they expressed solidarity with the beraved family of United Jehad Council Chief Syed Sallaahuddin on the demise of his elder brother, Ghulam Nabi Shah. He also highlighted the contribution of Syed Sallaahuddin to the freedom struggle and prayed for the heavenly abode of the deceased.
Commenting on the rights of women in connection with the World Womens Day, the Hurriyat leader said the male and female are the “two wheels of a car”. “Until both ride in a balanced way, the journey will be smooth,” he said.
“Men should be conscious of their responsibilities towards women. There is a dire need to put an end to the oppression women folf are facing world wide otherwise there is no peace on the planet,” Shah added.
Geelani who was kept under house arrest after returning from New Delhi recently, had complained about the Chest infection and breathing problems. The Huriyat amalgam led by him had appealed people to hold special prayers for Geelani’s health.
