Minor Girl 'Raped' in Srinagar
SRINAGAR; In a shocking incident, a 29-year-old allegedly raped a minor girl in Bemina locality of Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar.
Police sources said Zaid Aslam Khan, a resident of Hamdania Colony, raped the girl after he called her to his house. The girl on way to a Islamic seminary when the accused lured her to come with him.
“After receiving a complaint from the family of the victim, we arrested the accused and he is right now behind the bars,” a police official said.
A case vide FIR number 39/2014 under section 376 has been registered. The police official said that the medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape.
Residents alleged that the area is becoming hub of immoral activities while scores of youth addicted to drugs and alcohol roam freely. They appealed to the police to start a drive against these drug addicts at the earliest. (CNS)
