Shopian Killings; Commission Records Statement of CRPF
SHOPIAN; The one-man commission probing Gagren killings in south Kashmir’s Shopian town at the hands of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Thursday recorded the statement of a CRPF witness at Circuit House in Shopian.
Retired Justice ML Koul told that the statement of only one witness on behalf of CRPF could be recorded on Thursday because their team reached late for the reason that there was road blockades and water logging in Pulwama area at some places.
He said other witnesses have been asked to record their statements on March 15.
Justice Koul said the commission directed the counsel for CRPF to ascertain and collect the FIR’s and PSA reports from the district police regarding the involvement or credentials of all the deceased youth killed in CRPF firing.
“The said counsel for CRPF shall see that such documents are made available within ten days.
“We are also summoning previous SHO Inspector Irshad Ahmed who at present posted as SHO Kulgam on March 15 and have asked him to search important records from police station Shopian pertaining to the killing the Gagren youth.
