Vacations Extended Till March 20
SRINAGAR; With meteorological department predicting more snow and rain in coming 48 hours in Kashmir Valley,authorities have extended the winter vacation till March 20.
Divisional commissioner Kashmir,Shailender Kumar told reporters. The vacations of all educational institutes have been extended till March 20 in view of the inclement weather conditions. He said the government was prepared to deal with any eventuality in case of excessive snow.“We are in a much better state to deal with snow,” he told reporters.
It has begun to rain in various parts of Kashmir Valley including summer capital Srinagar with meteorological authorities predicting heavy rain and snow in coming 24 hours. Reports reaching to Kashmir informer said, several schools in summer capital srinagar are water-lodgged. Meanwhile mercury has also dropped and it is much diffcult for children to attend schools in these harsh conditions.
“There is going to be heavy rain and snow across Kashmir Valley. Parts of central and north Kashmir will be mainly affected by disturbances which have settled over Kashmir,” a Met official said
