SRINAGAR; After remaining critical for two days, a woman (name with held), who had set herself ablaze in north Kashmir succumbed to injuries at a hospital here on Thursday, police said.

The woman had been brought to the Burn Unit of SMHS hospital from Sopore after she set herself on fire in her house.

“A lady who immolated herself in Mahrajpora, Sopore on Tuesday succumbed to her injuries at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar,” a police statement said.

It added that after completing all medico-legal formalities the body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.

Sopore police has already registered a case in this regard. Investigation is going on.
