CRPF Thrashes Pump Station Operator And Family
SRINAGAR; During the dead of the night CRPF personnel allegedly thrashed a Pump Station Operator and his family members for not supplying electricity to their bunker located at Tengapora Gangboug area of Batamaloo bypass.
Bashir Ahmed Dar who operates a dewatering pump station looked after by ERA told CNS that during the dead of the night various gun touting CRPF personnel of 73rd Battalion barged into his station and demanded restoration of electricity to their bunker. “When I refused to do so they beat me up and entered into my house which is located near the pump station and thrashed my wife and children,” Dar said adding that he is not authorized to supply electricity to the Bunkar or any other house.
“They were drunk and did not listen to us. CRPF personnel abused and thrashed us and smashed the window panes of our house,” Dar told CNS adding that he is fearing for his life.
He said that he lodged a formal complaint against the CRPF hooliganism in police station Batamaloo. “Police visited the spot on Wednesday morning and admonished the CRPF personnel,” he said.
CRPF spokesperson Kishor Prasad told CNS that the Commandant of the CRPF Company has talked to the complainant and assured him of swift action against anyone found guilty. (CNS)
