HCJK Speeds up its Election Boycott Activities; Addresses Peope in Pulwama District
PULWAMA; Despite continuous restrictions from police and forces, the Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir delegation led by Shabir Ahmad Shah which included Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Muhammad Iqbal Mir and Muhammad Yasin Ataai succeeded in addressing various gatherings in south Kashmir’s Arihal area of Pulwama district,
However, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Mushtaq ul Islam were arrested by police at Litter Pulwama.
During his speeches, Shabir Ahmad Shah while terming the upcoming parliamentary elections as India’s design to weaken the ongoing freedom movement appealed people to foil these designs by completely boycotting the polls.
According to press statement, Shah reminded people that voting for those people who massacred our youth, hanged Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru in Tihar Jail, sentenced our pro-Hurriyat people to life imprisonment, is disloyalty to the sacred blood of our martyrs and to the freedom movement. “Voting them to power tantamount to crushing the wishes and aspirations of our progeny,” he said.
Shah made it clear that our honour, lives and progeny are not secure under the forcible occupation of India; therefore it is obligatory for us to boycott the upcoming elections.
The delegation also distributed pamphlets among people which depicted the negative effects of elections on freedom movement.
Shah said the continuous restriction by government does not deter Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir from reaching out to the people to aware people of negative consequences of participating in elections.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat spokesperson has severely condemned the arrest of Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Mushtaq ul Islam and termed their arrest as “frustration of government”. “The government is so scared of pro-freedom leaders that wherever they find them, they start arresting them and prevent them from meeting the people,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, a large contingent of police on return detained dozens of party activist including Bilal Ahmed Shah and Fayaz Ahmed Kaloo, who were later shifted to police station Pulwama
