Mirwaiz too talks Bijli, Paani and Anaaj

Srinagar, Dec 24: Moving away from the routine speeches, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday accused the government of failing to provide people with basic amenities.

Addressing a Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid here, the Mirwaiz said, “People are facing immense hardships in harsh winters. Government is harassing people for raising their voice against non availability of water, electricity and ration.”
The Mirwaiz said that perception is being created that people aren’t ready to pay electricity dues. “It is not true. When people of Kashmir can pay millions and billions to cellular companies, why won’t they pay electricity dues? But when the PDD isn’t providing the power supply, how can people pay dues,” he asked.
The Hurriyat Chairman said Government has been telling everywhere that let Hurriyat work for the solution of Kashmir issue and they would address the basic requirements of the public. He warned government saying Hurriyat was not going to see people suffer
for want of basic amenities. “There is shortage of essential commodities, including gas, kerosene oil and other amenities. Erratic power supply has added to woes of people,” he added.
The Hurriyat Chairman alleged that annual Durbar Move was nothing but a way of leisure and picnic for politicians and bureaucrats.
He asserted that the Hurriyat and the people of the valley will keep continue their struggle.
