Director General of Prisons inaugurated District Jail in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, Jan 01: Director General of Prisons, Navin Agarwal today inaugurated District Jail Islamabad (Anantnag) here.
Speaking on the occasion, Agarwal enumerated the benefits of commissioning of District Jail Islamabad. He said that District Jail will serve various purposes, which inter alia include the speeding up of trial of inmates belonging to South Kashmir because of their now being near the trial courts, relief to police who had to otherwise escort inmates from place of lodgement to the trial courts and facilitating meetings of family members and relatives who will not have not to travel long distances for such meetings.
DGP also went round the Jail barks and took stock of the security gadgets including CCTV cameras and deployment of security staff. While talking with the jail staff and the security contingents about the issues related to security DG asked them to exercise alertness and vigilance to ensure safety of Jail.
