J&K receives Rs. 219 crore for Dal lake conservation from centre: Nasir

JAMMU; Mar 05: Minister of State for Home and Urban Development, Nasir Aslam Wani while replying to a question raised by Ajay Kumar Sadhotra informed the House that LAWDA has been implementing cleaning, conservation and restoration of Dal Lake since 1997.
Mr. Nasir said that based on the recommendations made by the experts, a comprehensive strategy and interventions are being implemented for cleaning the Dal Lake, which included Point source Pollution, Non Point Source of Pollution, Restoration of development works and Rehabilitation of Dal Dwellers.The Minister said that state has received Rs. 21899.00 lakhs from the centre since 2003-04 to 2011-12 while Rs 19818.35 lakh stand expended under this account during this period. He said the project is scheduled to be completed by September 2013 while rehabilitation project is likely to be completed by 2015.Replying to another question by Javid Ahmed Rana, the Minister informed the House that “there is no disparity in allocation of funds in any sector/schemes as the funds are allocated/ released in each District, keeping in view the balances required against the number of schemes sanctioned under state plan, district plan and centrally sponsored schemes.”
