Protests in Islamabad against arrest of youth in Delhi
ISLAMABAD (Ang), Mar )2: Responding to the call of Ummat-i-Islamia protest demonstration was organized in this South Kashmir town against the detention of two Kashmiri youth in Delhi.
As soon as the Friday prayers concluded, people in large numbers gathered in Hanfia Jamia Masjid compound shouting pro-Islam and pro-freedom slogans.
The demonstration which was led by the Chairman Jammu Kashmir Ummat-i-Islami and Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Yasir marched towards Lal Chowk and culminated there.
Addressing the gathering there Mirwaiz Yasir condemned the arrest of two Kashmiri youth in New Delhi.
“The harassment of Kashmiri youth at the hands of security agencies and booking them under frivolous grounds outside state is nothing new and the arrest of the two innocent youth is the same tactic,” said Yasir.
Mirwaiz also demanded the release of political prisoners. He said Muhammad Shafi Shariyati, Imtiyaz Haider, Dr. Qasim Faktoo, Masarat Alam, Peer Saifulllah, Mehraj Kalwal, Shakeel Ahmed Sofi, Shabir Bukhari, Misbahi Ahmed, Yaseen Itoo, Javaid Ahmed Najar and all other political prisoners should be released.Yaseen Itoo, Javaid Ahmed Najar and all other political prisoners should be released.
