Ganderbal Encounter: Another Mujahid Martyred; Toll 2
GANDERBAL; 02, Sep 2012: Indian forces said another mujahid (Soldier of Islam) was martyred in an encounter with troops in forest area of Kangan in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, taking the death toll of the ongoing encounter to two.
Indian Defence Spokesman Lt Colonel J S Brar said. said that the search party comprising of SOG Ganderbal, 24 RR, 5 RR and 13 RR intensified their search operation to trace out the mujahideens who were holed up in the high altitude thick forest area of Chahtergul Ganderbal.
He said “One weapon has been recovered from one of the deceased mujahideens,”
Indian army is using choppers to fight with what they said three to four mujahideens.
Yesterday One mujahid was martyred. With today's causality the toll of martyred mujahideens reached to two.
Indian Army further claiming that the mujahid which was martyred today belongs to Hizbul Mujahideen Group.
Intermittent firing continues for whole day. The Encounter is on when this report was filed.
