High Court Bar Association to abstrain from work today

SRINAGAR; 04, Sep 2012: The Kashmir High Court Bar Association has decided to abstain from work on September 04, in support of Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s call for highlighting issues related to construction of road to Amarnath cave.

“An extra ordinary meeting of the office bearers of the Bar Association was held yesterday the 3rd of September 2012 in Sadder Court Complex Srinagar in which it was decided that the members of the Bar Association will abstain from work on 4th of September 2012 i,e today, so as to enlighten the public with regard to the issue pertaining to Amarnath Yatra which basically is effecting the people of the valley ecologically and morally”, said a statement issued by the Bar Association.
The spokesperson of the Bar Association said “The Bar Association has always respected and honoured the call given by either of the Hurriyat parties, as such the Bar today has honoured one of such calls”.
