SHOPIAN; 04, Sep 2012: State Secretary CPI (M) Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed anguish over the death of Mohd Ashraf of Hermain Shopian, who died due to electric shock yesterday. The death has triggered massive protests in the area.

Such accidents have become a daily affair due to dilapidated electric infrastructure especially in the rural areas and PDD has failed to learn lessons time and again, he added.
Tarigami urged upon the government to take immediate steps for rehabilitation of the victims family and demanded stern action against the erring officials of PDD for their negligence.
