Doctor’s negligence endangered newborn’s life in LD Hospital

SRINAGAR; 21, April 2013: On Sunday, a distressed parent alleged that negligence from the doctors’ side at Lal Ded hospital has led to the deterioration of the health of their newborn baby and has put her life in danger. They told that if anything goes wrong with their baby then the hospital will be held responsible.

According to reports, after labour pain, Asiya Banoo wife of Mohammad Younis Bhat from Zewan Srinagar was admitted in Lal Ded Hospital. “The doctors did the operation in such a way that newborn baby suffered injuries and it was heartening to see baby getting three stitches on his forehead,” Mohammad Younis told.

He said that the doctors accepted that during the operation, an injury by a pair of scissors had been caused to the baby. “I fail to understand how and why the newborn baby suffered injuries. I must admit that these doctors take everything lightly and act as non-professionals during the operations. Stern action should be taken against the erring doctors,” Younis said.
