Baramulla to observe shutdown on Sham’s visit on 23rd May

BARAMULLA; 21, May 2013: Civil Society in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district have appealed people to observe complete shutdown on former Health Ministers visit to the Town on Thursday.

The Baramulla Civil Society for Cause, a conglomerate of writers, traders, thinkers, professionals and students Tuesday appealed people of the Town to observe complete shutdown on 23rd May, the day former Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma is visiting the town.

The Civil Society has said that the move has been necessitated to show solidarity with the Civil Society of Kashmir which has arisen against the spurious drug racket detected recently.

Civil Society members told that they view the spurious drug racket as a conspiracy to kill Kashmir’s. “How can we forget the death of hundreds of neonates last year at G.B.Panth Hospital. We kept on blaming doctors but never knew that what we were administering our children in the name of medicine actually was poison, shielded and patronized by the powers at the helm,” they said.

Civil Society Baramulla appealed Beopar Mandal, transporters and people in general to make the call a success. “We request the people of the Town to boycott Sham Lal Sharma on his visit and greet him with black flags,” the members said.
