Revenue officials defer strike for two days
SRINAGAR; 20, May 2013: Revenue officials (Patwaris) Monday deferred their on-going strike for two days from Tuesday. All Jammu and Kashmir Patwari Association (AJKPA) take this decision soon after its meeting with Revenue Minister Ajaz Ahmed Khan in Civil Secretariat Srinagar. Earlier, scores of revenue officials assembled before the office of District Development Commissioner and raised slogans in favour of their demands. They alleged that government is playing hide and seek with them.
AJKPA spokesperson told that they have deferred the strike for two days as out of six demands the government has assured them that their two demands will be accepted while the rest of the demands with be accepted gradually. “Minister for Revenue Ajaz Ahmed Khan and Commissioner Secretary Revenue Vinod Koul assured us that Cabinet will give nod to our two demands on Tuesday,” he said adding if nothing positive will come out then they will continue their strike from Thursday.
