Son of Deputy Sarpanch abducts a married woman
KULGAM; 18, May 2013: Police Saturday arrested the son of a Deputy Sarpanch for his involvement in the abduction of a married woman and instant death of the father of the woman in South Kashmir’s Lamad area of Qazigund. People came on roads and staged a massive protest against the inaction of police against the son of the Deputy Sarpanch.
Protestors alleged that the son of Deputy Sarpanch Manzoor Ahmed Gorsi allegedly abducted the married daughter of one Ghulam Hasan Gorsi and when the father went to Manzoor’s house, he insulted and beat him.
Protestors said that Ghulam Hassan returned broken hearted and demised at his residence as he could not bear the shock. People came on roads along with his dead body and demanded stern action against the culprits. Superintendent of Police Kulgam pacified protestors and assured prompt action against the guilty.
“We have registered a case against Manzoor Ahmed under section 366 and 109 of RPC vide FIR number 87/2013 while police is investigating the cause of death of Ghulam Hasan Gorsi,” a police official told adding that the family of Manzoor have been called to police station for questioning.
