RAJOURI; 31, July 2013: Corporal punishment is unfortunately a reality in J&K's education system; and in another instance of brazen highhandedness, a teenaged girl in Rajouri district was allegedly kicked by her teacher in the abdomen for being late to school.

What's worrying is that corporal punishment is on the rise and the government remains tight lipped about such incidents.
