Army Trooper injured in Shopian
SHOPIAN; 22, Aug 2013: An Indian Army trooper was injured today in Imamsahib area of Shopian after an accidental fire from his service rifle. The trooper got minor injuries in his arm and was shifted to hospital.
However according to Indian military authorities, Unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade on Indian army patrol party at Imam Sahab, in south kashmir’s Shopian district this afternoon resulting injuries to one army trooper.
According to them, The grenade exploded causing splinter injuries to a trooper who was evacuated to hospital.
However, No rebel group has so far claimed responsibility for the grenade attack.
Meanwhile, Shopian police suspects that it was not a hand grenade. “We are investigating the matter and trying to know that was it a hand grenade or just a fire cracker to spread panic,” a police official told.
