Curfew continues in Kishtwar on 7th day
KISHTWAR; 15, Aug 2013: Curfew continued on the 7th day in the moutainoeus district of Kishtwar, where clashes broke out between the hinuds and muslims on the day of Eid.
"The situation is being reviewed on an hourly basis. A final call on relaxation of curfew in Kishtwar would be taken today (Thursday) afternoon," a senior administrative officer told.
Kishtwar district magistrate Basheer Ahmad Khan told reporters there had been no untoward incident anywhere since Wednesday.
Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir was scheduled to head the India's Independence Day celebrations in Kishtwar town.
Officials have invited prominent citizens from both communities to hoist the Indian flag in the town as part of confidence building measures and expression of communal harmony.

Three persons were dead and more than 80 injured in the communal clashes that took place in Kishtwar on 9th of August.
