Internet Services Restored in Valley after 5 days

SRINAGAR; 15, Aug 2013: Internet services were restored today evening in Kashmir after remaining suspended for 5 days.

Net Services were snapped on mobile phones and dongle appliances on 10th of August, a day after communal violence broke out in Kishtwar.

Authroities termed the move as a precautionary measure to prevent spreading of rumors.

It was the 4th time in this year, when Internet services were snapped.

A blanket ban has also been imposed on SMS services in June 2010, when the "Quit India Movement" was launched by Muslim League Chairman Masrat Aalam Bhat.
