Black Flags hoisted in Pulwama

PULWAMA; 15, Aug 2013: Black Flags were hoisted today morning at different places in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Indian Army and Para-military troopers swung into action and removed all the black flags depicting anti-India slogans.

Quoting eyewitnesses, a local news gathering agency CNS said that people especially youth hoisted black flags at different places in the district on the eve of India’s independence Day. Different anti-India slogans like ‘Go India Go Back’, ‘We want freedom’ were seen written on these flags. Army and CRPF personnel during their routine patrolling in the morning removed these flags and seized them from Samboora, Pampore and Prichoo in the district Pulwama.

Meanwhile, a CRPF van carrying troopers from Pulwama to Pampore after August 15 function came under attack near Samboora, Pampore. Youth present alongside the road pelted stones on the vehicle and damaged its windowpanes.

Eyewitnesses said that CRPF personnel resorted to heavy tear smoke shelling to disperse the agitated youth who were raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
