Lady allegedly thrashed by Tehsildar Pampore
PULWAMA; 26, Sep 2013: Tehsildar Pampore Thursday allegedly thrashed an orphan for seeking help of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to address her problem.
Gulshana Akhtar daughter of Ghulam Muhammad Charray resident of Kadlabal Pampore told a local news agency CNS that Tehsildar Pampore Mushtaq Ahmed Bajroo locked his office room, hurled abuses and assaulted her physically. “I had gone to his office on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama but was humiliated and beaten to pulp by the said Tehsildar,” she said.
She said that DC Pulwama had dispatched a letter vide 79/ADC/APP directing Tehsildar Pampore to look into a matter related to attestation and mutations of agriculture land.
“Tehsildar did not take any action and when I approached DC again, he reprimanded the said Tehsildar and asked him to address the particular problem within two days,” she said.
Gulshana alleged that Tehsildar was all fuming and told me why I approached DC Pulwama. “He thrashed me ruthlessly before closing the door,” she told.
She alleged that Numberdar Kadlabal Pampore Ghulam Nabi Mir is acting as a broker and demanding bribe from us. “Ghulam Nabi said that Tehsildar wants bribe for attestation and mutations of land,” she said.
When contacted, Tehsildar Pampore, he told that it is wrong number while Numberdar Ghulam Nabi Mir said that Tehsildar neither thrashed the lady nor demanded any bribe from her.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama told that he would look into the matter. “Tell the lady to approach me and I would look into it,” he said. (CNS)
