As per a local, “Gazi had gone to offer his condolences to Tariq Ahmad Waza, whose mother expired some days back, in Islamabad in a Train on Wednesday. He boarded a train back to his home in Baramulla which leaves from Islamabad around 5 pm and reaches Baramulla by 7.40 pm.” He adds, “Gazi was with his party colleagues till Sopore but he didn’t return home. And on Thursday morning his body was found with torture marks and bruises over it near railway track in Kreeri.”

As the last reports came in clashes were on between the police and protesters in his native village and around two people were injured.

Gazi was a famous warrior (mujahid) of 90’s and he then joined the People’s League.

Police termed the death as a road traffic accidents however post-mortem report confirms that he had died due to torture as body was having several torture marks.
