Police officials said the victim identified as Rubeena, wife of Ghulam Rasool Shag who used to work as a domestic help, was buried under debris of a dilapidated shop which caved in at Rainawari locality.

A rescue team of Jammu and Kashmir police retrieved the body and it was sent for a post-mortem examination. An investigation has been started to ascertain the cause of collapse which is believed to have been triggered by rain.

Kashmir valley is witnessing heavy rains since Thursday morning with the officials of MeT department forecasting bad weather for the next 24 hours.
