NHW Update: Traffic to Ply from Srinagar to Jammu Tomorrow
SRINAGAR; As intimated by Traffic Control unit Srinagar, Strictly subject to fair weather condition and good condition of road, the vehicles viz. Private LMV’s, commercial LMV’s, LCV’s, medium passenger as well as commercial vehicles including buses (except double decker sleeper coaches) heavy commercial vehicles (except trailers/ multi-axle vehicles) would be allowed to travel from Kashmir side towards Jammu in a regulated manner.
All kinds of above mentioned Jammu bound passenger service vehicles (from valley side) shall cross TCP Pantha chowk upto 0900 hours, Levdora (Qazigund) upto 1200 hours and Jawahar tunnel upto 1330 hours only.
The load carriers (as mentioned above) bound for jammu (from valley side) shall cross pantha chowk upto 0800 hours, Levdora (Qazigund) upto 1100 hours and Jawahar tunnel upto 0100 hours only beyond which no vehicle shall be allowed to proceed towards JT for onward journey.
All the concerned will ensure strict implementation of the cut off timings for hassle free movement of traffic on National Highway. No vehicle, whatsoever, shall be allowed to cross any of the above mentioned places/TCPs beyond the prescribed cut of time, in any case. Beyond the cut-off time, LMV’s, PSV’s etc. If any shall return to their respective places and heavy vehicles shall be parked in an orderly manner at suitable places where there is no apprehension of traffic jamming.
In case of bad weather, the decision regarding movement of the traffic or otherwise on National highway shall be taken by the concerned SSP traffic, on the spot, as per the situation. However, in order to ensure safety/security of drivers/passengers, no vehicle especially PSV's shall be stranded/parked in avalanche/ slide prone zones/ areas of national highway especially between zig (Qazigund) and Nowgam (Banihal).
No movement of trailers/multi-axle vehicles and double decker (sleeper coach) buses would be allowed on national highway on 12/01/2014. Moreover, no traffic movement whatsoever shall be allowed from Jammu side towards Kashmir valley during this period. Further, no load carrier carrying excess/over load shall be allowed to ply on Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
