Kashmir Solidarity Day on Feb 5

ISLAMABAD (Pak); Preparations are underway to observe ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ across the neighbouring country Pakistan and its alliances including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on February 5. The Government and people of Pakistan had been observing the day each year since 1990 to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren of Indian held Kashmir who are struggling for their birth right to self determination.

The Pak government has announced national holiday on February 5, as it was practice of the country since 1990 to enable the people to participate in various activities highlighting the day and expressing solidarity to the people of Indian held Kashmir across the country.

Many banners and posters had also been displayed on many prominent places, roads and intersections of the capital, proclaiming Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kashmiris.

On Wednesday a five-minute silence at 10:00 AM would also be observed to honour Kashmiri ‘Shuhada’.

Meanwhile thousands of Pak youth thronged to social networking sites, two days prior to post solidarity messages. (with inputs from APP)
