Student stabbed to death in Baramulla
BARAMULAH Tension gripped in the north town of
Baramulla and protests of hundreds followed the shutdown when a student
was stabbed to death outside a local tuition centre on Monday afternoon.
Reports reaching here said that Irshad
Ahmad Gani, a resident of Ushkara, area of the town was stabbed
allegedly by Irfan Ahmad Bhat, a resident of old town.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Life that they
saw Irshad in a pool of blood outside Ahmad Complex Baramulla, who was
later declared dead.
Reports said that there was some verbal
duel between Irshad and Irfan before the later allegedly stabbed the
former who died in the Baramulla hospital.
After the news spread the town thousands came on roads and protested against the incident.
They were also alleging the Doctors of Baramulla hospital for not shifting Irshad to Srinagar.
The people brought the body of Irshad up to the main chowk and demanded stern action against Irfan, the alleged killer.
Sources said that Irfan later surrendered before Baramulla police.
Police spokesman while confirming the killing of Irshad said that Irfan was later arrested.
