AIP Threatens State-Wide Agitation Over Sedition Charges on Students
SRINAGAR; Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) President has termed the decision according to which Kashmiri students in Uttar Pradesh have been booked for sedition for celebrating Pakistan's victory in a cricket match as draconian and horrible.
Engineer Rashid termed the decision as another black spot on the so called democratic and secular credentials of India. “For cheering the favourite sports team Kashmiri students have been harassed allover India. Imposing sedition charges on Kashmiri students are not only absurd but this is murder of democracy,” stated Engineer Rashid.
Rashid loathed the decision aimed at controlling the emotions of Kashmiris and curbing their thought-process by suppression and oppressive tactics. “ Cheering Team Pakistan is an "anti-national act" and turning Kashmir into graveyard over the past 30 years is not a big deal for Indian system . The Indian state apparatus is truly acting on a weird logic without any humane considerations especially when it comes to dealing with Kashmiri emotions,” stated Engineer Rashid.
Rashid has also threatened to launch a state- wide agitation if the sedition charges against Kashmiri students are not immediately withdrawn.
