Resistance Camp Calls For Protests Over Expulsion of Students

SRINAGAR; The unceremonious ouster of Kashmir students from a Indian university and slapping seditious charges on them has triggered anger and outrage in Kashmir with resistance leaders calling for protests on Friday.

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani condemned the charges against the Kashmir students and termed the action as 'unacceptable'. The octogenarian while calling for 'peaceful' protests in valley's colleges and universities on Friday, said: "If expressing inner sentiment is seditious, then India should book every Kashmir national because we don't accept Indian occupation.” He said that Kashmir people are not safe in India.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, while condemning the action said Kashmir natives will not accept toying with the future of youngsters and announced that the pro Independence group will protest against the action tomorrow. "Oppressive measures against Kashmir students in Meerut, beating them and now lodging a FIR of treason against them is a reflection of India’s animosity against people of Jammu Kashmir," Malik said, adding: "to show solidarity with these oppressed students, and protest against the Indian oppression against them, JKLF will organize a protest rally and sit in at Lal Chowk tomorrow."

Malik said: "Expelling students from university, beating them and now registering a case of treason against them just because these people chose to cheer for some team during a cricket match is actually a shameful act of Indian rulers and cannot be termed but as mental and moral bankruptcy of these rulers," adding: "This shows the level of frustration and animosity of India against.
