Pak Offers Admission to Students Expelled from Meerut University

News Desk; The controversy after the Kashmiri students were suspended from Meerut University seems unending with the Pakistan’s foreign office offering admissions to the expelled students in Pakistan and students openly accepting the PAK offer.

According to the reports by a local news gathering agency, the Pakistan’s foreign office Thursday issued the statement asking the students to join Pakistan’s universities. "Our hearts and educational institutions are open for all Kashmir students who were suspended and charged with sedition for celebrating Pakistan’s victory."

Stating that it would be impossible for them to return to the university in Meerut, one of the ousted student told over phone that their future is at stake and that it would be their priority to study anywhere in the world for the sake of their career. “Why not- we are ready to go to Pakistan and anywhere in the world where we could study properly.”

Another suspended student said that they want the varsity authorities to return their certificates so that they could explore other options vis-a vis their studies.

Commenting over the reports that sedition charges have been filed against them, the students accused that they have been treated like the criminals in the varsity and that the maltreatment given to them in the recent past was pathetic. “We never raised any slogans; Media is circulating bias reports about us. Everything that is being said at present is a drama of cameras and lights. We silently were watching the game- they turned frustrated over Pakistan’s win and vented out anger against us by pelting stones on our hostel rooms.”

Adding further, the students told that next day they were asked by the varsity officials that a fine of Rs five thousand has been imposed on them for cheering for Pakistan. “We were told that we have been suspended from the varsity for three days. After sometime police came to our hostel and packed us off. We were bundled in busses and were asked to leave.”

Another student (name withheld) stated that they are ready to accept the offer of Pakistan if the assurance is given that we will be safe out there. “If we are secure in Pakistan or anywhere in the world- we are ready to go there for the sake of our career.” (KNS)
