UJC Calls for Complete Poll Boycott
SRINAGAR; UJC chief Syed Sallahudin has called for a complete boycott of Parliamentary elections saying that execution of Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru, commutation of D S Bhullar’s death sentence into life term and rape of Kupwara girl at the hands of army are a testimony to the fact that ‘Indian establishment, judiciary and army are in collusion against Kashmiris.’
In a statement issued to a local news gathering agency, the UJC chief has said that Guru was executed by the Congress led UPA government to appease fanatics and even his body was not returned to his family just to keep the extremists elements of the country in good humor.
Sallahudin has observed that relief given to Bhullar has not pained him but the way Guru’s case was dealt with has surely vindicated prejudice and partisan role of Indian judiciary and a nexus between Indian government and the extremist forces in the country.
Strongly condemning the incident, the UJC chief has termed rape incident in Zurhama Kupwara as a blot in the face of Indian democracy. He has appealed the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of the incident.
He has also appealed for complete boycott of the Parliamentary elections saying that people who have rendered immense sacrifices for a cause should not strengthen the hands of collaborators.
Sallahuddin has also criticized National Conference leader Dr Mustafa Kamal’s remarks against Jamat-e-Islami saying that Abdullah family ‘has not only put in efforts to destroy the Kashmiri nation but has sold out its own Islamic identity at the hands of non Muslim for the sake of power.’
He has said that Kashmiri movement will continue with full force till its logical conclusion and those elements who betrayed this movement will have to eat a humble pie. (KNS)
