Police on specific information laid down a Naka near Darhala (Nagri) and intercepted a vehicle which was on way to Punjab. As soon as the driver noticed the police Naka, he managed to escape from the spot leaving behind vehicle bearing registration no-JK08-A 7909 loaded with 3 buffalos. After preliminary enquiry it was established that these bovine animals were being smuggled to Punjab state illegally.

Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused. A case FIR no-491/2011 U/S 279/188 RPC stands registered at PS Kathua against the accused.
