Curfew, Restrictions in Kashmir on Day 2
KN DESK; 20, July 2013: Authorities imposed curfew and restrictions in summer capital, Srinagar, and in all major towns of Kashmir for the second consecutive day to thwart anti-India protests.
A top police officer told that only restrictions under section 144 CRPC have been imposed in Sopore. Private vehicles were plying in the volatile town.
Curfew was also imposed in north Kashmir's Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla districts. While as Uneasy calm in South Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Shopian. Strict curfew in Qazigund where protesters made an unsuccessful bid to torch a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force camp yesterday evening.
At other places including the Doda belt, Complete Shutd-down was observed to protest against the Ramban Massacre.
Curfew was lifted from afternoon in Ramban after 2 days and the halted Amarnath Yatra was allowed to proceed further. Traffic on National Highway also resumed after 2 days.
