In the year 2010, The Veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat Leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani termed Indian media as biased and alleged them of reporting what their masters want in New Delhi. Meanwhile Indian regime restricted media to report the news. Local Cable news channels were banned. The authorities termed this step as a precautionary measure.

It was not a new thing for Kashmiris as they were well aware of the faces that were shown by Indian media to them. A 9 year old boy, who was going towards school was attacked near his house in Srinagar by CRPF Troopers and later it was said that a protester has been killed. The Indian media channels without confirming the reality labelled the school going boy as a protester. Later it was proved that the boy was not part of any protest nor any kind of demonstration was taking place in the locality where he was shot.
This year on 13th of March, when 5 CRPF troopers were killed in a suicide attack at Bemina Srinagar, One of the India's prominent news channel (Times Now) reported that 5 children were killed after militants attacked on a school. Similarly there are numerous other examples when Indian media reported such news items that lead hatred towards media.
In 2010, after Kashmir witnessed a mass killing of teenagers, a few facebook pages regularly updated the news soon becoming popular. A few youth also launched some professional news websites to keep others updated.
However in 2012 and 2013, a numerous of facebook news pages appeared, posting the news that they copy and paste from other sites especially from Indian media websites as they are fast.
Earlier this month, when four civilians were kidnapped by Indian troops in Azad Kashmir, Indian authorities labelled them as guerrillas and the Kashmir based Facebook News Pages also reported the same with a little bit of change in title, "4 Mujahids (Soldiers of Islam) killed" Later it proved that the four men were not ultras but civilians who were killed in a fake encounter.
Today according to Pakistani Army Officials, One 65 year old civilian was killed and his 26 year old daughter was injured after Indian troops fired on Pak posts in Poonch district.
A few minutes later Indian military authorities addressed the media and said that three jawans were injured after Pak fired on Indian posts.
The Kashmiri Facebook Pages copying the news from Indian media websites posted the same that 'Three Indian BSF Jawans were killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan." without mentioning what the Pak military officials said.
The endless war between India and Pakistan might continue until they both exist. The blame game between the media's of the both countries will also continue however Kashmiri based Facebook News Pages mainly demanding freedom, the hearts of the most of thee admins of these pages beat for Pakistan but on the facebook their updates beat Pakistan.
The aim behind the admins of these Facebook pages is to give updates from Kashmir, but in one or another way, they are helping India to use media, facebook and other things as a weapon against the freedom struggle of Kashmir, effecting badly the truth they want to deliver to the world...
Sahi bataya bhai, kuch he facebook pages such likhte hai baaki saare behanchod india ki news likhte hai
