Participation in Delhi cultural show insult to our tradition: Freedom Party

SRINAGAR; 19, Sep 2013: Terming the government decision of allowing cultural tour of Kashmiri girls undergoing MBBS training in Government Medical College, Srinagar to New Delhi as against the Valley’s tradition, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Thursday said that Kashmiris give utmost importance to education of their daughters but there is no good for girls in attending such immoral functions.

“It is the wish of every Kashmiri to see their offspring enlightened with education and making their nation proud,” Freedom Party spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS on Thursday said, adding that Kashmiri parents also know the importance of safeguarding the moral traditions of their children.

“We hope that parents will not allow their children to take part in such events where mockery is made of our traditions,” the spokesperson said.

Paying glowing tributes to first martyr of resistance movement Shaheed Ajaz Ahmad Dar on his 25th anniversary, the spokesperson said the sacrifice of Ajaz Ahmad Dar is a golden chapter of our resistance movement which further strengthens the spirit and ideology of pro-freedom groups.

The spokesperson while criticizing the government policy of keeping senior resistance leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah away from meeting people since past two and a half years said it is a dictatorial and undemocratic policy of government. “The puppet rulers who are taking oath of democracy of India should be ashamed of their deeds,” the spokesperson added.
