Protests in Palhalan. Many Injured
BARAMULLA: 18, Sep 2013: Thousands of people offered funeral prayers of the two martyred rebels Aadil Rashid and Bilal Ahmad today morning.
Yesterday evening, a joint party of 27 RR of Indian Army and SoG of Jammu and Kashmir police claimed that they had killed 2 rebels in a brief encounter in Goushibagh Pattan.
Locals alleged that it was a staged encounter. Both were arrested and were shifted to Police station Pattan. Last night they killed them and then staged a drama of an encounter.
Hundreds of men and women took to streets to protest against these killings. They tried to block Srinagar-Baramulla national highway. However Police and paramiliatry intercepted and lobbed many tear-smoke shells to quell them.
As per initial reports, many protesters were injured by police action.
